Philip Aspden has over 35 years experience of Luxembourg’s insurance and reinsurance market, primarily with the West of England Ship Owners Mutual, a marine mutual insurer. Throughout, he had taken a keen interest in the development of insurance in Luxembourg, from the days of a largely domestic market, to captives, and to the wider implications of cross-frontier establishment and freedom of services. He served for many years as a director of ACA, and remains president of Agere (the reinsurance managers association) and a member of the CAA’s consultative commission on prudential regulation.
